I like the simplicity of it, brings me back to the old days :) The only thing I could wish for, is for the snake to gradually speed up as it eats the apples.
This is a great entry, pretty solid and even more this being your first jam ever. My first jam ever entry was a disasterpiece lol, this is really cool and polished. Really cool you've built it for several systems as well.
It's pretty solid already, if you can bring something even better would be awesome ^^
Don't worry about other entries or winning that much, it's always good to win but a big part of game jams is having fun and learning, also dealing with pressure and deadlines to get something finished. You seem to have nailed all of these aspects ^^
